SINGLE CROP ROLLERS
INDEPENDENT TYRES THAT FOLLOW THE GROUND
Bison Crop Rollers use individual solid-rubber forklift tyres prepared to our specifications. Each tyre floats independently, allowing the roller to follow changing ground conditions while maintaining consistent contact across the working width.
Bison Single Crop Rollers are manufactured in a range of working widths, with the 10 and 12 foot models remaining our most popular across farming, vineyards, schools and councils.
WHY ROLL AFTER SOWING?
Rolling after sowing consolidates the seedbed, closing air gaps around the seed and creating firmer, more consistent contact with the soil. This supports more even germination while leaving a smoother surface for the operations that follow.
IMPROVED SEED-TO-SOIL CONTACT
Rolling closes air gaps around the seed, supporting more uniform emergence and faster, more even germination.
BETTER MOISTURE CONSERVATION
A consolidated surface can reduce evaporation from the topsoil and help retain moisture in the seed zone.
REDUCED FROST AND WINTER HEAVE
Rolling after sowing helps hold seed and young seedlings in place through freeze-thaw cycles.
A SMOOTHER, MORE LEVEL SURFACE
Rolling flattens clods and levels the paddock, providing a more consistent surface for spraying and harvesting.
IMPROVED HARVESTING CONDITIONS
A firm, even surface can reduce header bounce and grain loss and may allow more consistent harvesting speeds.
RESIDUE MANAGEMENT AND PEST SUPPRESSION
Rolling can flatten stubble and cover crops in conservation systems and may help reduce slug activity by exposing eggs.
INDEPENDENT SOLID-RUBBER TYRES
Individual tyres move independently to follow the contour of the land and move against adjoining tyres during turns, helping prevent soil from being pushed into unwanted ridges.
TWO-PIECE DRAWBAR
The two-piece drawbar can be separated to make transporting and handling the roller more practical.
UNIVERSAL BALL HITCH
Bison’s universal ball hitch uses the same ball as a three-point linkage arm, providing a durable and dependable connection between the tractor and roller.
