Bison Crop Rollers feature solid rubber tyres, fitted loosely on the centre drum, allowing tyres to move up & down so they follow the ground with even pressure. It also allows the tyres to slip when turning, leaving corners without ridges. Rolling crops greatly increases seed soil contact, creating a much higher percentage germination.
Rolling lentils or peas at their 3rd node stage will bury stones & flatten clods, allowing the header to work very low to the ground & recover the full crop with a very clean sample.
Single Drum Crop Rollers are available with widths ranging from 10' - 20'. The centre drum can be filled with ballast to increase down-force. Using solid drum rollers (steel roller, truck/four wheel drive tyred rollers) when you turn it creates a bank up of soil in front and behind (as the drum doesn't turn) and cannot follow the contour of the land as it is all one unit. However when using a Bison Engineering crop roller the tyres are all independent and turn at different speeds, thus limiting the bank up of soil in front and back. The tyres are loosely fitted so that they can follow the contour of the land (move up and down).
Alternatively to the Bison Engineering hydraulic forty foot crop roller, you can choose the linkage roller above. Ranging from size 12-40 foot.Whichever size you choose Bison Engineering crop rollers make your crop grow a whole lot better and if weeds are a problem take a look at Bison Engineering's Weedwiper too.
